Let The Father’s Name Keep You And Family
… Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; … (John 17: 11 – 12).
About March 13, 2017, the Lord said to me, “Teach about My Name”. Before the voice came, I was preparing a devotional for the week of March 14 – 19, but I did not have the flow from Glory into my spirit as is normally the case. So, I laid on my bed to rest and sleep. Suddenly, the voice of the Lord came to me while I was half asleep saying, “Teach about My Name”. You will observe that the devotion for that week came late, on March 16. These devotionals are inspirational, please pay attention to them; they are the voices of the Spirit as I received them. About 3.30 am on March 18, the voice of the Lord came to me saying, “Go and make my name known …”
Now, what is in a name? The name of a person defines his character and authority level. Whenever the name of a person is mentioned, either the character of the person will come to your mind or the authority and power (including his skill or what He is known for). If you knew the former American president, when his name is mentioned, Barak Obama, a few of his peculiarity will flash through your mind. It will certainly be different from when the name of the current American president is mentioned, Donald Trump. That is how powerful a name can be.
The Lord Jesus said, to the Father in prayer, “While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost”. The name of the Father has enough power to keep those who are His sons. They shall not be lost; only the sons of perdition are prone to being lost. Thank God, you are not a son of perdition. The name of the Father can keep you from sickness, pains, poverty, struggle in life and from the activities of Satan and his cohort. This is why the Lord Jesus prayed the Father to keep us in His name. He knows that the name of the Father is powerful to keep those who are His. This is why for the last few weeks, He instructed me to rekindle in His people the consciousness that He is their Father and that they should relate with Him as sons relate with their Father. Even though, He is our God, He wants to relate with His own as their Father. See, God knows those, who are His own, for it is written, “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2: 19).
It has become very pertinent to God in this season, to separate His own and care for them as a Father should care for His children. The world out there is groaning in pains, poverty, confusion and death but God is making a difference in the lives of those who are truly His. Check carefully the going of things around you. Check also your devout relationship with the Father through His Son Jesus Christ. Are there things or convictions that the Holy Spirit is bringing to your mind confirming that you are truly a son of God or are there convictions that He is telling you to redress, repent and make right? See, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth; He does not tell lies; He tells it as it is. Those who are led by the Spirit are the true sons of God (Romans 8: 14). Listen to His voice and be convicted that you are a son of God. Then, build your faith on the truth that the name of the Father will keep you through this trying season which is upon the earth right now, for God truly knows those who are His.
POINT OF ACTION FOR DEVOTION
- Read and meditate on Proverb 18: 10; then, declare the name of the Lord over yourself and your household for safety and provision.
- Read Numbers 6: 24 – 27 over your family and put the name of the Lord over them. This will attract the blessing of God upon them.
- For those of your household who are not serious with the Lord, please, admonish them to repent; then, pray for them, for the days are evil for those who are not of God and are not kept by the name of the Father (Proverb 28: 13; Isaiah 55: 6 – 9). God bless you and your household, in Jesus’ name.
